About
Yasamin is a graduate of Master of Fine Arts in costume design from the UCLA School of Theatre, Film and Television. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in fashion design and haute couture from the Paris American Academy. She was a fashion design assistant and knitwear director for Jungera, and an assistant to Rick Owens, and Jenny Packham fashion shows, and others during Paris Fashion Week.
In theater and the performing arts, Yasamin has designed at the American Contemporary Ballet, the Independent Shakespeare Company and South Coast Repertory. In spring 2023 She designed the world premiere of Quake opera at UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music. She is a contributor to the Bloomsbury Encyclopedia of Film and Television Costume Design and the recipient of the 2026 Stage Raw Theater Award for Costume Design. Yasamin is currently lecturer and designer at California State University, Northridge and Santa Monica College.
